General Questions:

What Inspire's you to write?

Everything. Anything. From the feeling of a rainy day, to the questionable actions of a stranger, to the accidental over-hearing of someone else's conversation. It's the simplest things for me. My mom swears it's a gift. I just think it's normal, at least for me.

What's Your Favorite Story You've Written?

That's a tough one. Well, I'm rather close to "Rewind" and "Lost Without You". And But I'm actually rather in love with "Battles Of Evangeline" too. So probably one of those three at the moment (all of which I have completed).

Any favorite current project?

The sequels in "Battles Of Evangeline".

How do you learn about writing methods, techniques, etc?

Buying a load of books on writing and studying each and every one, as mind-numbing as it sounds. Read articles in magazines on writing. Read regular books. Backspace (the online organization). Talking with authors about how it's done. There's lot's of ways.

How do you improve your own technique?

I practice. My favorite way of practicing is fanfiction. If you like Harry Potter or Inuyasha check out my fanfiction. The link is on the "Links and Such" page. I should be starting a new one soon.

From Samantha B. :

1.) Who are you?

I’m a young writer named Angel Young. Is that an okay answer?

2.) Where are you from?

Middle-of-Nowhere, Missouri

3.) What are your books about?

A bit of everything. I mostly prefer fantasy, supernatural, or extremely dark subjects.

4.) Why are you so simply awesome?

Well, I got this button that says “I (heart) Being Awesome”… So, we’ll assume it’s because the button says so.

From Truvirgo (on Myspace):

1.) When did you decided to be a writer? Or did it decide you?

Good question. I think it’s a bit of both.

I’ve always had this weird desire to tell stories. I just get these thoughts in my head and BAM! I babble them off. When I finally figured out how to write, I started jotting stuff on paper. I wrote horrid little rip-off stories. The earliest I remember was a twist of Halloween and Dracula. Weird, I know. In middle school, I did a lot more writing just to handle the stress. If I wrote, I didn’t have to think about anything other than my story. I did only short fiction, not able to stretch anything out very far.

Then, in eighth grade, my Advanced English teacher had us write a short story. I rewrote a story of mine that had haunted me since I dreamed about it called “Rewind”. The day after I turned it in, my teacher found me when I came to school and pulled me aside. She told me the story took her breath away, that she couldn’t stop reading until she was done, and even afterward, she had to go walk around outside to calm her back down. Then she asked if she could read it aloud to the rest of the class. I told her yes, but I wanted her to not tell anyone I wrote it until afterward.

When it class started, I sat down and listened eagerly as she read. I watched my peers faces. I watched them suffer alongside the protagonist. I watched them root for her.

When she finished, the room was amazed. Then she told them an eighth grader wrote it. Again, they were shocked. Then she revealed I had written it. For a short period of time, I felt like a celebrity. Teachers read my story. Others in the school read it. It still gets read to this day.

That’s when writing and I agreed -- this was what I wanted to do.

So, I worked on my writing skills, learning through the practice I got when I wrote fan fiction.

And here I am.

2.) Describe your books-without comparing them to anyone else's.

A general overview. Not all have all these qualities. But most:

Dark. Twisted. Not many happy endings. Supernatural. Funny. Bloody. Fantasy.

You know, stuff I’d like to read.

3.)When & what was your first published piece? and what did you have to go through to get there?

Lots of submissions got me there. The first real published piece, as far as I can recall, was the stuff for Teen Ink. I’ve had reviews published, too. But not a whole lot of awesomeness there.

4.) Do I have ADD? lol, seriously-I will have to stick to essays/short stories at best- I cannot keep a train of thought long enough for character development! My writing is more random, much like vomiting and thats okay I like to do it for relaxation and guarantee it will never be published-but seriously how do you people do it?!?

I used to be just like that. Eventually, I transitioned over to longer, fuller, stories. How I did it, I have no idea. Practice, maybe? Beats me.
